Over the last month, a pin-prick of emotional light has finally broken into the black-hole of white self-imposed ignorance and denial. Some white people are waking up, right now, to the despairingly illogical absurdity of state oppression and violence.
We must use this break as the start of dismantling the Doctrine of Discovery – that is the systems of murder, violence, and oppression we are recognizing anew in ICE.
We must do this AS we come alongside our Black, Indigenous, POC siblings, supporting them, respecting their wisdom, following their leadership, surrendering our power, and fundamentally re-orienting our lives to decolonizing this world.
Our siblings have been resisting. Indigenous, Black, and other peoples have demonstrated for generations how to pursue right relationship, life, and liberation in the face of genocidal leaders, businesses, and governments.They have been resisting these repeated formulas of state-sponsored extermination that they have known for hundreds of years and they have been organizing. The violence is ongoing. The lies continue. Empire is planning for more.
We must change now.
We must live differently and we must act now.
If you live in Minnesota, call the Governor’s office and demand an eviction moratorium now. Liberation for our siblings (and ourselves) requires Economic Justice. We must stand against the falling dominos of kidnapping and murder that leads to living in fear and terror which leads to losing a job which leads to hunger, eviction, and back to death.
If you live anywhere in the US, call your senator to demand they block any DHS appropriations bill or Continuing Resolution that maintains funding for ICE. (The 5 Calls app can help).
Then, find and go deeper into community. Our security is in our communities. Find your people and organize with them.
